Performance
The numbers in front of each trim name indicate the type of engine that the SUV uses. The first six trims available to Clovis drivers use standard SKYACTIV 2.5-liter engines. The Turbo and Turbo Signature use turbocharged 2.5-liter engines. The standard engine can definitely meet high expectations, as it can generate 186 pound-feet of torque and 187 horsepower.
The turbo engine pushes things even further, as it's capable of making up to 256 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. Both types of engines come standard with Mazda's all-wheel-drive system called i-ACTIV. This allows the SUVs to have better traction whenever they deal with wet, icy, or otherwise slippery conditions around Visalia.
Mazda has given the CX-5 a six-speed automatic transmission. It comes with a manual shift mode as well as a sport mode. Select trims also have Off-Road modes as part of the Mazda Intelligent Drive Select program.
Safety
Mazda has focused a lot of attention on designing safe vehicles. Every CX-5 has blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist. These trims also have forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, which can prevent many accidents. The Turbo Signature has a 360-degree monitor, parking sensors, and rear automatic braking, too.

Design & Technology
Every trim in the lineup comes with a 10.25-inch display along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It can be so nice to have smartphone compatibility when traveling around Madera since it makes it much easier to stay in touch with others and find things to listen to.
Since the SUV can accept voice commands, drivers can keep their hands on the wheel. Also, there are audio and phone controls mounted on the steering wheel. Some other standard components that are part of the infotainment package are HD Radio, Pandora internet radio integration, and a Multifunction Commander control. The entry-level trim has four speakers, and most others have six speakers.
At the top of the lineup, three trims are fortunate to have ten Bose speakers with technology that enhances their audio quality. Additionally, these trims feature SiriusXM. The top trim benefits from integrated navigation, and turbocharged models have wireless charging.
